In February 1963, a new roundabout was proposed at the junction of Pannal Ash Road, Green Lane, Yew Tree Lane and Whinney Lane. This was needed to connect in the 5th junction from the proposed new road into the Pannal Ash Farm estate, (now Beckwith Road). This drawing clearly shows parts of the National Children's Home and the few houses down to Otley Road.
